The Ballroom of the GAM (Gallery of Modern Art) in Milan was the setting for the exclusive presentation event of a project that celebrates Dante Alighieri 700 years after his death. An evening organized by Forma Edizioni, italian publisher, with GAM, the Association of Friends of the Gallery of Modern Art and Strategica Group, which continues its commitment to support the artistic excellence of our country with the Private & Art division Insurance, directed by Rosalba Acquaviva.
"We are proud of the role that Strategica Group is conquering in this world, which is as wonderful as complex, and of the expertise that is attested by the partners with whom we have the opportunity to collaborate - says Rosalba Acquaviva - after the Florentine week of contemporary art, the Fabio Viale's exhibition in Turin, the Arnulf Rainer exhibition at the Galleria Poggiali and the initiatives dedicated to Francesco Vezzoli in Brescia and Florence (considering only what was realised in the second semester), having been chosen as a partner for this event is a really important recognition, and a great honor ".
Forma Edizioni paid homage to the work of the Supreme Poet on this important anniversary with a re-edition of the Divina Commedia by Sergio Risaliti, Artistic Director of the Museo Novecento in Florence, in collaboration with Riccardo Bruscagli, Emeritus Professor of Italian Literature at the University of Florence. The volume is enriched with essays by Cristina Acidini, Art Historian and President of the Academy of Drawing Arts and Giorgio Bacci, Associate Professor of Contemporary Art History at the University of Florence. The publication contains original illustrations by Maestro Mimmo Paladino, who wanted to give a graphic and pictorial interpretation of the songs of the Comedy, condensing the poet's irrepressible imagination and his expressive power into images. The reproductions of the three Dante canticles make up a volume published in three different editions. The most prestigious is a real artist's book accompanied by two authentic lithographs by Maestro Mimmo Paladino inserted in a precious box.
The presentation evening was introduced by Tommaso Sacchi, Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Milan, while the editorial director of Forma Edizioni Laura Andreini presented the project in three different versions. The heart of the event was the dialogue between Sergio Risaliti and Mimmo Paladino, a journey between images and words in which the Master told how the meeting with Dante took place at a time when travel was a central theme in his creativity. An artistic creativity transmitted from father to daughter: the actress Ginestra Paladino gave her personal and intense interpretation, at the end of the event, of the memorable verses of the fifth canto of Hell.
