From 13 November to 13 February 2022 the Brescia Museum of Santa Giulia hosts the exhibition “China is not nearby. BADIUCAO - works by a dissident artist ". Strategica Group, with the Private & Art Insurance division led by Rosalba Acquaviva, ensures the 70 original works including installations, prints and paintings that make up the exhibition.
This is the first solo show organized in the Western countries dedicated to the Chinese artist-activist known for his protest art, who currently lives in exile in Australia, and who has established himself on the international stage thanks to social media, with which he spreads his art worldwide. His twitter account @badiucao is followed by more than 80,000 people, and constantly challenges the Chinese government and censorship.
The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Brescia and the Brescia Musei Foundation, chaired by Francesca Bazoli and directed by Stefano Karadjov, and is curated by Elettra Stamboulis.
With this new project, the Brescia Musei Foundation, together with the Municipality of Brescia, continues the path started in 2019 with the exhibition "We will also have better days. Zehra Doğan. Works from Turkish prisons".
